Elina Svitolina won the first match after a break of 13 months

The former first racket of Ukraine, 28-year-old Elina Svitolina, won her first victory after resuming her career.

The athlete triumphantly started at the ITF W60 tennis tournament in the Swiss city of Chiasso. She beat the Romanian tennis player Elena Gabriela Rusu, not allowing her to earn a single break point on her serve.

For Svitolina, this is a significant match for several reasons: the first victory after the decree and the return to tennis and the first participation in the ITF tournament in 10 years.
